Making a Rectangular Prism

My Reflection :

I was learning about making prisms  out of paper. 

First I had to draw a net with 4 rectangles and 2 squares.  Mrs D helped me to cut out to make sure that the sides were straight. Next I had to fold the tabs and sides so there are sharp creases. It was tricky to decide what the prism would look like and how to draw the net so that I could make a prism.I would like to learn how to make a pyramid.

My Reflection:

I am learning to take notes and write facts.

I find it tricky because the experts spoke quite quickly. But I did answer the questions with the correct answers. 

I have learned lots about what to do in an earthquake. I am still talking with my parents about our emergency plan.

Geohazards Reading Quiz

My Reflection:

I did a reading activity today about geohazards with a buddy and after we read about the geohazards in NZ we did a reading quiz.  We scored 100% so this meant that we got all the 10 questions right.

 I read the sentences with Mrs Douglas but I answered the questions correctly by myself. I am getting better at making inferences.  I am learning to find the clues to help me answer the questions.

The Unusual Baker Maths Problem

I was learning to solve fraction problems.
I had to work out the fraction of each piece and then find the cost of each piece of cake. I used a fraction set and then money to work out how much each slice cost.
I found it tricky because I am not sure about money
I would like to learn more about money so I can pay for things by myself.
I learnt that 1/4 plus 1/4 is the same as 1/2 . I also learnt that 1/2 of $10 is $5

I am learning to write an explanation of my art I did.  I found it tricky to concentrate because the class Room was noisy.

Learning about Pictographs and Creating a Bar Graph

My Reflection:
I found it was a bit tricky to work out the number of people because one person equally 2 and half a person was only 1.  But I did it with help from Mrs H.

I had to work out the answers to the questions. Some were hard but I used my adding in tens and ones.  I did a good job.

I need to do more work on pictograms. But I liked it.
